This past weekend I traveled to Boise, Idaho to see Boise State get revenge for last year’s loss to Nevada – which ended Boise’s 24-game winning streak. And revenge it was.
Although Kellen Moore and the offense’s performance made it look like they weren’t too upset about last year’s loss, the Bronco defense acted like they weren’t going to get over it easily. By halftime Nevada, who the week before against Texas Tech gained 560-plus yards, had a grand total of 50 yards. A lot of people think that Boise’s defensive line might be one of the best in the country, and based on Saturday’s game, you would have a hard time arguing against that.
Something Borrowed, Everything Blue
That field and the stadium might just be the most colorful in the country. EVERYONE in blue and orange. The blue turf and the clear blue Boise sky were enough to even impress this guy from L.A. I had never realized before Saturday that the sky could be that blue.
Around the Nation
A couple weekend observations… Wisconsin is a more complete team than they have been in the past. Good QB play and defense are the difference makers this year… Don’t be shocked if Oregon OR Stanford somehow find their way into the BCS Championship Game. If Stanford gets there they would be the “smartest” team without question ever to get in… If I am a Sooner fan, I have to be worried about my kicking game, and the big rivalry game with Oklahoma State at the end of the year… Ok, time for me to go argue with my wife about who has the better defense: Alabama or LSU. I like Alabama, but she likes LSU. Could be a long night! Signing off…

The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic was once again an outstanding event to open the college football season.
