While the Penn State scandal has led to the dismissal of longtime head coach Joe Paterno and several university officials, NCAA President Mark Emmert released a statement underscoring the importance of the criminal and legal process running its course before any association investigation will take place.

Also, this week the announcement of penalties for rules violations in the Oklahoma Men’s Basketball program, and the first national championship of the year is given out in Division II Women’s Field Hockey.
