LAS VEGAS – New Mexico went up big early and held on to capture the Mountain West Conference tournament title on Saturday night in Last Vegas, defeating San Diego State 68-59.
Tony Snell and Kendall Williams each scored 14 to lead the Lobos. Chase Tapley of the Aztecs led all scorers with 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to get San Diego State back in the game.
Kevin Calabro and Steve Lappas called the action on the Westwood One Radio Network.
