NEW ORLEANS, LA – After winning a second Super Bowl, Eli Manning forced himself into the conversation of elite NFL quarterbacks, along with names such as Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and brother Peyton.
With a second national championship on Monday night, Kansas head coach Bill Self will achieve something similar…as his name will have to be included in the conversation with Krzyzewski, Williams, and Calhoun.
But standing in Self’s way is a man looking for his first title, Kentucky’s John Calipari. The two men opposed each other in the 2008 title game, with Self’s Jayhawks coming back to stun Calipari’s Memphis Tigers in overtime.
Jim Gray caught up with Coach Self ahead of the national championship game versus Kentucky.
