OMAHA — The third time was also the charm for South Carolina, as the Gamecocks won for the third time in 36 hours to secure a spot in the College World Series championship finals.
Arkansas led 2-0 early, but South Carolina rallied for a pair of runs in the 5th, then scored the go-ahead run on a bases loaded walk in the 7th.
Matt Price pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory and become the first pitcher with five career wins at the College World Series.
South Carolina will face Arizona as it tries for its third straight national championship. The best-of-three finals begin Sunday night. Coverage on the Westwood One/NCAA Radio Network begins at 7:45 PM ET.
