British Open Round One: Leader Adam Scott on his 64

07/19/2012

LYTHAM ST. ANNES, ENGLAND – Australian Adam Scott is your leader after 18 holes at the 2012 British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, firing a first-round 64 on a day where the weather cleared and players were able to go low.

The 32-year-old flirted with a major-championship record-tying low round of 63, but a bogey at the 18th left him at -6 after Thursday’s opening round.

Nicolas Colsaerts, Paul Lawrie and Zach Johnson are one shot back at -5 with Brandt Snedeker an additional shot back at -4. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Ernie Els and Masters champion Bubba Watson are among eight players who shot opening round 67s to land at -3.
