Countdown to London: Six Huskies Head to London for Team USA

Women’s basketball coach Geno Auiremma shouldn’t have any problem recognizing most of his players as Team USA goes for its fifth straight Olympic gold medal in London. Of the 12 women on the roster, six played for Auriemma at Connecticut.

Those standouts include two-time gold medalists Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi as well as first-time Olympians Maya Moore and Tina Charles.

Highlights: Russians dominate women’s figure skating

As everyone predicted, the women’s figure skating competition in PyeongChang came down to a pair of Russians: 15-year-old Alina Zagitova and 18-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva.
