07/30/2012

LONDON – While the U.S. men’s gymnastics team fell apart, China re-captured its dominating form.

Fall after fall shattered the American hopes for gold – or even a medal of any variety – while the Chinese once again reminded everyone why they haven’t lost at a major competition in eight years.

The Chinese bested Japan, who won the silver only after the asked officials to review a scoring decision. After the score was improved, the Japanese team jumped over Great Britain and Ukraine to finish second. The British fell into the bronze medal position while the Ukranians missed out on hardware by finishing fourth. The U.S. team finished in fifth place.
