American Beauty: Musical montage of Gabby Douglas’ performances

LONDON – Gabby Douglas become the third consecutive American woman to win the Olympic all-around gymnastics championship, edging out Viktoria Komova of Russia.

Douglas follows 2008 all-around champ Nastia Liukin and 2004 gold-medal-winner Carly Patterson.

Fellow American Aly Raisman just missed out on a medal of her own, finishing in fourth place after she lost the tiebreaker for the bronze to Russia’s Aliya Mustafina.

After the competition, Aly spoke with our gymnastics announcer Peter Vidmar.

As everyone predicted, the women’s figure skating competition in PyeongChang came down to a pair of Russians: 15-year-old Alina Zagitova and 18-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva.
