Track and Field: Allyson Felix strikes gold

08/08/2012

LONDON – It took her three trips to the Olympics, but Allyson Felix finally got the gold medal she was after.

Felix won the women’s 200 meters on Wednesday night, finishing with a time of 2.88 seconds. Felix beat out Jamaican rival Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who earned the silver.

American Carmelia Jeter finished third to pick up the bronze medal. It’s her second medal in London so far, after she finished second in the 100 meters earlier this week.
