With Giants trailing 27-16 late in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay, things were looking bleak at MetLife Stadium. But all was not lost – mostly because New York’s two-time Super Bowl MVP was still under center.
Eli Manning rallied his team for 25 fourth-quarter points and a come-from-behind 41-31 victory over the Bucs. On the day, Manning was 31 of 51 passing for 510 yards and three touchdowns – including strikes in the last seven minutes of the game to Victor Cruz and Martellus Bennett. In the final quarter along, Eli threw for 243 yards – the same yardage Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman managed in the entire game.
