Two long streaks came to an end in NCAA sports last week. First, the 40-year run of Jim Calhoun as a successful NCAA basketball coach came to an end when the veteran UConn coach announced his retirement.

Then, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team lost its 47-game winning streak in a loss to Buffalo State.
