EUGENE, OR – In no time at all, the national championship race changed completely on Saturday night.
Just minutes after BCS #1 Kansas State lost its first game of the year to Baylor, another unbeaten fell as Jordan Williamson’s 37-yard field goal split the uprights and Stanford downed #2 Oregon 17-14 in overtime.
Notre Dame is poised to jump two place to #1 when the new standings are released on Sunday, while the winner of the SEC Championship Game will have the inside track on the second spot in the BCS title game.
John Tautges and Rocky Boiman called the action on Westwood One Sports.
