MIAMI – Dan Carpenter’s 43-yard field goal as time expired gave the Miami Dolphins a 24-21 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon.
Miami rookie Ryan Tannehill completed four of four passes on the game-winning drive and threw for 253 yards and a touchdown in the victory.
Seattle’s rookie QB Russell Wilson also had a solid game, completing 21 of 27 passes for 224 yards and two scores on the day.
Leon Washington tied the NFL record for kickoff return touchdowns with the eighth of his career in the fourth quarter.
