SAN DIEGO – Ray Rice’s catch and run for 30 yards on fourth down and 29 allowed Baltimore to kick a field goal to force overtime and eventually beat San Diego 16-13 in overtime.
Rice caught Joe Flacco’s short pass over the middle and made several defenders miss in picking up a do-or-die first down. Justin Tucker nailed a 38-yard field goal as time expired to force the extra frame.
In overtime, each team had two possessions before Tucker nailed another 38-yarder to win it and run Baltimore’s record to 9-2. San Diego dropped to 4-7 and is essentially out of the playoff race.
