SEATTLE – Andrew Luck was the top overall pick in last year’s draft. Russell Wilson was selected 74 picks later in the third round. But the result for the rookie quarterbacks’ teams is the same: a spot in the NFL playoffs.
Just hours after Luck and the Indianapolis Colts locked up an AFC Wild Card, Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks blasted the San Francisco 49ers 42-13 on Sunday Night Football to earn at least a Wild Card in the NFC. Seattle can win the NFC West with a win and a San Francisco loss in Week 17.
Wilson was 15 of 21 for 171 yards and four touchdowns in leading Seattle to an impressive victory.
Dave Sims and James Lofton called the action on Westwood One Sports.
