ARLINGTON, TX – The Florida Gators withstood a hot start from the 15th-seeded Florida Gulf Coast Eagles to win 62-50 in Arlington and advance to the Elite Eight where they’ll face Michigan on Sunday for a chance to reach the Final Four. It’s the Gators’ third consecutive trip to a regional final. The Eagles were the first-ever 15-seed to advance all the way to the Sweet 16.
Florida Gulf Coast started out fast with their trademark high-flying baskets, but Florida eventually used their size and strength to slow the Eagles down and control the game. Mike Rosario led the Gators with 15 points and five rebounds, while Sherwood Brown scored 14 with six rebounds in the loss for Florida Gulf Coast.
Brad Sham and Fran Fraschilla called the action on Westwood One Sports.
