AUGUSTA, GA – A wild Friday at the 2013 Masters included morning downpours, windy afternoon conditions, several balls hit into the water and one shot from Tiger Woods that we’ll be talking about for a long, long time.
Fred Couples posted the lowest score early in the day, becoming the first player to reach the clubhouse at five-under, but in the afternoon groups, it was Tiger Woods and Jason Day that stole the show.
Woods was on his way to a potentially bogey-free round when his third shot at the par 5 15th hole hit the flag stick and rolled back into the water. Tiger would recover to make bogey and bogeyed again at 18 to finish with a 71 on the day and land at -3 for the tournament.
Day fired Friday’s low round, notching a 68 to take the outright lead heading into the weekend at six-under par for the tournament.
For a recap of the action, our Kevin Kugler talks with Mark Carnevale and we hear from Jason Day, Fred Couples and more, as well as Kevin’s interview with CBS-TV’s Bill Kratzert.
