OMAHA, NE – In the first 1-0 game at the College World Series in nearly three decades, Oregon State downed Indiana to stay alive.
Jake Rodriguez had the only RBI of the game on a sacrifice fly in the 4th and Matt Boyd made it hold up. Boyd pitched a four-hit shutout and struck out 11 batters on the night.
The Beavers move on to face Mississippi State on Friday, needing back-to-back wins over the Bulldogs to make the best-of-three championship series. The Hoosiers’ season is over.
The game marked the first time a contest has ended 1-0 in Omaha since 1985.
