OMAHA, NE – For the second straight game, UCLA capitalized on an opponent’s mistakes to win 2-1 and advance within a single victory of the best-of-three championship at the College World Series.
The Bruins scored the go-ahead run on an NC State wild pitch in the 5th inning then made it hold up through the strong pitching of Nick Vander Tuig and David Berg.
UCLA is off until Friday, while NC State will face North Carolina on Thursday in an elimination game. The Wolfpack beat the Tar Heels in the CWS opener for both teams on Sunday.
