OMAHA, NE – UCLA’s formula didn’t change – and neither did its streak at the College World Series. Great pitching and timely hitting have the Bruins one win away from a national championship thanks to a 3-1 victory over Mississippi State.
It was UCLA’s fourth victory in a row in Omaha this year – and fourth where the Bruins allowed the opponent just a single run.
Adam Plutko pitched six strong innings and David Berg got yet another save – his 24th of the year. The big hit came from Eric Filia, whose two-run single in the 4th inning gave the Bruins all the offense they’d need.
Kevin Kugler and Scott Graham called the action on Westwood One Sports.
