OMAHA, NE – Thanks to more timely hitting and dominant pitching, UCLA is two wins away from a national championship at the College World Series.
The Bruins got a key two-run double from Pat Valaika in the 7th to take a 4-0 lead and the pitching did the rest.
Grant Watson threw six innings of shutout ball, while three relievers allowed just a run on three hits the rest of the way.
UCLA will face Mississippi State in the best-of-three championship series beginning on Monday night.
Kevin Kugler and John Bishop called the action.
