EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – It took seven tries, but the New York Giants finally have their first win of the year after a 23-7 victory over Minnesota on Monday Night Football.
Eli Manning threw for a touchdown and 200 yards – but most importantly he didn’t turn the ball over, and the Giants only gave the ball away once as a team. With three takeaways, it was the first time New York has won the turnover battle this year.
On the other side, Adrian Peterson was ineffective for the Vikings, gaining just 28 yards on 13 carries. New quarterback Josh Freeman didn’t fare so well either. His passer rating of 40.6 came courtesy of 20 of 53 passing with an interception.
Kevin Harlan and Boomer Esiason called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
