At this point, we might just need to name the award after him. This week’s AutoZone “In the Zone” Pro Football Player of the Week is once again Peyton Manning – the fifth time this season and third time this month that the Denver quarterback has earned the honor.
Manning was once again at his very best on Sunday, throwing for 266 yards and four touchdowns in the first half alone as Denver earned the top seed and home-field advantage in the AFC with a 34-14 win over Oakland. Manning’s four TDs stretched his single-season NFL record to 55 on the year and he reached 5,477 yards passing on the year to pass Drew Brees for the single-season yardage record. Manning sat out the entire second half as the Broncos clinched a first-round bye.
Peyton Manning was definitely “In the Zone” and he’s our AutoZone Pro Football Player of the Week.
