Olympic Interview: Gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White

Charlie White Meryl Davis Paul Wylie Jason HorowitzSOCHI, Russia – Meryl Davis and Charlie White became the first Americans to win a gold medal in ice dance on Monday night in Sochi as they bested their friends and rivals Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir from Canada.

Davis and White won silver in Vancouver four years ago, but went one better this time around thanks to record-setting performances in both the short and free dances.

After earning the gold, they stopped by our studios at the International Broadcast Center to talk with our figure skating announcers Paul Wylie and Jason Horowitz.

As everyone predicted, the women’s figure skating competition in PyeongChang came down to a pair of Russians: 15-year-old Alina Zagitova and 18-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva.
