Olympic Interviews: Team USA Women’s Hockey

02/05/2014

USA Womens Hockey Press ConferenceTeam USA’s women’s hockey team will get things rolling Sochi on Saturday with a matchup against a very solid Finland squad, which handed the U.S. a loss last year. The game is the first in Team USA’s group, which also features Canada and Switzerland.

The women’s hockey tournament in Sochi has a new format this year in which the world’s top four teams are grouped together. All four are guaranteed a spot in the quarterfinals, but the top two will earn a bye all the way to the semifinals.

In the other group, Germany, Russia, Japan and Sweden will play for the other two quarterfinal spots.

Ahead of the Sochi Games, our Jason Horowitz had a chance to talk with a few of the key cogs for the Americans.
