NEW YORK, NY – Connecticut head coach Kevin Ollie knows it was hard for his team to have to sit out and watch other teams compete in last year’s NCAA Tournament. But the second-year head coach is proud of the way his team has responded, by getting it done in the classroom and continuing to mature on the court throughout the season. He also knows how important the senior leadership of guard Shabazz Napier has been to this year’s Husky squad.
Ollie reflects on his long-time friendship with Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg, as well as the challenge of trying to slow-down and defend the fast-paced Cyclones’ offense.
Ian Eagle caught up with UCONN head coach, Kevin Ollie, ahead of the game.
