Highlights: McDermott and Creighton down Xavier to reach Big East championship game

Doug McDermottNEW YORK. NY – Doug McDermott scored 32 points as Creighton advanced to the Big East Tournament title game in its first year in the conference with a 86-78 victory over fellow conference newcomers Xavier.

In the game, McDermott passed both Keydren Clark (St. Peters, 2002-06) and Harry Kelly (Texas Southern, 1979-83) to move into fifth place on the all-time NCAA scoring list.

Ethan Wragge added 17 for the Bluejays, who move on to face Providence in the final.

Kevin Kugler and John Thompson called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
