Player of the Week: UConn’s Shabazz Napier

03/24/2014

Shabazz NapierThis week’s AutoZone “In the Zone” College Basketball Player of the Week is Shabazz Napier.

Connecticut’s senior guard was nearly unstoppable as he carried the Huskies into the Sweet 16. Napier started with 24-point, eight-rebound, six-assist effort as UConn managed to get by St. Joseph’s in overtime in Thursday’s second round.

Napier followed that up with an epic second-half performance against Villanova. He scored 25 points in 25 minutes overall in the game, but dropped 21 on the Wildcats in the second 20 minutes alone. He was 9 of 13 from the field overall and 4 of 8 from three as Connecticut cruised to a 77-65 win.

Shabazz Napier was definitely “In the Zone” and he’s our AutoZone College Basketball Player of the Week.
