ANAHEIM, CA – After surrendering the opening bucket, Wisconsin never trailed again, cruising to a 69-52 victory over 6th-seeded Baylor.
The Badgers were led by forward Frank Kaminsky’s 19 points (on 8-of-11 shooting) and 6 blocked shots. Guard Ben Brust also contributed 14 points off of 3-of-5 shooting from behind the arc.
Forward Cory Jefferson led the way for the Bears with 15 points and 7 rebounds.
Despite reaching the NCAA tournament in each of the thirteen seasons with Bo Ryan at the helm, this marks the first time since 2005 that the Badgers have reached the Elite Eight. The West Region’s 2nd-seed will go on to face the winner of Thursday’s contest between 4th-seeded San Diego State and top-seeded Arizona.
Ted Robinson and Bill Frieder called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
