PHILADELPHIA – Daniel Ciampini scored a hat trick as Union College advanced to the national championship game with a 5-4 victory over Boston College Thursday at the Frozen Four.
The Dutchmen outscored the Eagles 3-2 in the decisive third period, with Ciampini netting a power play goal and into an empty net. Boston College got a late goal to get it to 5-4 but Union held on.
They’ll play the winner of North Dakota and Minnesota on Saturday night.
