CANTON, OH – While nearly all of the attention at the Pro Football Hall of Fame is on the seven members of the Class of 2014, we’d like to take a moment to single out one of our own: former Westwood One Sunday Night Football analyst Bob Trumpy.
Trumpy was honored with the Pete Rozelle Radio & Television Award, which recognizes “longtime exceptional contributions to radio and television in professional football.”
After a 10-year career with the Cincinnati Bengals, Trumpy began his broadcasting career in 1978, first with NBC Sports and later with us on Westwood One.
Before Saturday’s enshrinement ceremony, our Scott Graham sat down with Trumpy to talk about his long career and the honor of the Rozelle Award – and he also made time to get in a few digs at the expense of Westwood One executive producer Howard Deneroff.
