EUGENE, OR – Trailing by nine points early in the third quarter, Oregon ripped off 28 unanswered points to defeat Michigan State 46-27 in a battle of top-ten teams on Saturday at Autzen Stadium.
The Ducks were faster out of the gate, leading 18-7 after Devon Allen’s long TD reception. But from that point, it was all Spartans – for awhile. Michigan State’s scored 20 straight after a field goal made it 27-18 with 4:05 elapsed in the third.
Allen’s 2nd TD catch of the night turned the tide, however, and Oregon took the lead back 32-27 on Marcus Mariota’s TD strike to Keanon Lowe.
Mariota was 17 for 28 for 318 yards and three TDs on the night. He also rushed for 42 yards on nine carries.
John Sadak and Derek Rackley called the action on Westwood One Sports.
