SEATTLE – Marshawn Lynch was in Beast Mode and the defending champion Seattle Seahawks picked up right where they left off, defeating Green Bay 36-16 in the NFL opener on Thursday night.
Lynch rushed for 110 yards on 20 carries and scored two touchdowns in the victory. Russell Wilson played error-free football, tossing two touchdowns while completing 19 of 28 passes and rushing for another 29 yards.
Aaron Rodgers was 23 of 33 for 189 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the defeat. Rodgers also fumbled once on a play that the Seahawks recovered for a safety.
Kevin Harlan and Boomer Esiason called the action on Westwood One.
