LANDOVER, MD – Russell Wilson was his usually efficient and dominant self as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Washington Redskins 27-17 on Monday night.
The Seattle quarterback was 18 of 24 for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns to go with 122 yards rushing on just 11 carries. The 122 yards on the ground sets a new Monday Night Football record for yards rushing by a quarterback.
Washington closed within a touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a Kirk Cousins pass to Andre Roberts, but Wilson and the Seahawks responded with a game-clinching field goal. Then eight-play drive that led to Steven Hauschka’s 43-yard field goal included an incredible third-down play by Wilson to get a completion and a first down to Marshawn Lynch.
Kevin Harlan and Boomer Esiason called the action on Westwood One.
