DENVER – Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes – including the 500th of his illustrious career – as the Denver Broncos defeated the Arizona Cardinals 41-20 on Sunday at Sports Authority Field.
Manning was sitting on 499 when the game began and didn’t take long to join Brett Favre as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with 500 or more touchdowns, reaching the mark on a 7-yard pass to Julius Thomas midway through the first quarter.
With the three additional scores, Manning is at 503 – five shy of Favre’s NFL record.
Demaryius Thomas was Manning’s major target on the day, hauling in eight receptions for a team-record 226 yards and two scores.
Dave Sims and Rod Woodson called the action on Westwood One.
