LONDON, ENGLAND – It took a second attempt, but Matt Prater’s 48-yard field goal as time expired gave the Detroit Lions a 22-21 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in the second NFL game played at Wembley Stadium this season.
Prater failed on a 43-yard attempt moments earlier, but the play was whistled dead for delay of game. The ball was moved back five yards and Prater didn’t miss a second time.
Atlanta had led 21-0 at halftime, but couldn’t stop Detroit from engineering its second come-from-behind victory in as many weeks.
Dave Sims and Mark Malone called the action on Westwood One.
