This week’s AutoZone “In the Zone” College Basketball Player of the Week is Sterling Gibbs.
Westwood One NCAA Basketball host Jason Horowitz filed this report:
“Despite losing star freshman Isaiah Whitehead to an injury, the Pirates still got off to a great start in Big East play. Seton Hall upset 15th-ranked St. John’s on New Year’s Eve before handing #6 Villanova its first loss of the season, and coach Kevin Willard can thank Sterling Gibbs for much of that. The Texas transfer scored 45 points to go with 12 assists and just 3 turnovers in the two games combined. In the win over St. John’s, he hit five of seven from three-point range. He was great, and is a great choice for our Player of the Week.”
Sterling Gibbs was definitely “In the Zone” and he’s our AutoZone College Basketball Player of the Week.
