ROSEMONT, IL – Megan Podkowa scored 19 points and was named the Big East Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player as DePaul won its second straight tournament championship with a 78-68 win over Seton Hall on Tuesday night.
Big East Player of the Year Brittany Hrynko added 12 points and nine assists as the Blue Demons won in their home city for a second year in a row.
Ka-Deidre Simmons led all scorers with 23 points but it wasn’t enough as the Pirates trailed throughout and failed to capture a first tournament title in program history.
