It’s been 42 years, and still no college player has managed to unseat Bill Walton’s epic performance in the 1973 national championship game as the greatest in tournament history.
Walton scored 44 points and was 21 of 22 shooting as UCLA defeated Memphis State to capture the NCAA championship in St. Louis.
