OMAHA-Frank Mason III scored 17 points and added nine rebounds to lead No. 2-seed Kansas past No. 15-seed New Mexico State, 75-56, in an NCAA Tournament second-round game at CenturyLink Center.
Mason shot 6-of-7 from the floor to pace a balanced Jayhawks squad which had seven different players contribute six or more points. Kansas led 36-23 at intermission and shot 9-of-13 from 3-point range to coast into Sunday’s third-round matchup against Indiana or Wichita State.
Kevin Kugler and Will Perdue called the action on Westwood One Sports.
