COLUMBUS, OH – Oklahoma avoided Thursday’s plague of No. 3-seeded upsets with a 69-60 win against the 14th-seeded Albany Great Danes on Friday. TaShawn Thomas led all scorers with 18 points and five rebounds for Oklahoma alongside Buddy Hield who dropped in 15 points of his own.
With the win, Oklahoma advances to face the winner of Providence-Dayton with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line.
Peter Hooley scored 15 points for Albany in the loss.
