BLACKSBURG, VA – Ohio State pulled away in the second half to defeat Virginia Tech 42-24 on Monday night and ensure the Hokies didn’t score an upset for a second straight year.
A year after losing to Virginia Tech in Columbus, the Buckeyes came out on fire and raced to a 14-0 lead. In front of a raucous crowd at Lane Stadium, the Hokies answered and took a 17-14 lead to halftime. That was as good as it would get for the home team, however.
Ohio State scored 28 unanswered points to start the second half and put the game out of reach.
Scott Graham and Derek Rackley called the action on Westwood One Sports.
