DALLAS, TX – They say you can throw out the records when it comes to rivalry games, and that was certainly the case at the Cotton Bowl as Texas downed #10 Oklahoma 24-17.
The Longhorns came in 1-4 and reeling; they left with a milestone victory for embattled head coach Charlie Strong.
Texas ran the ball for 313 yards – and threw it for just 55 – as they handed the Sooners their first loss of the season.
Chuck Cooperstein and Tim Brown called the action on Westwood One Sports.
