Vince Lombardi once called Forrest Gregg the best player he ever coached, and when the guy they named the Super Bowl trophy after has that to say, what else needs to be said? The answer: not much.
In a long and successful career as an offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, Gregg cleared the way for some of the game’s great running backs, including fellow Hall of Famer Jim Taylor, and kept opposing defenders away from his friend and quarterback, Bart Starr.
In the most recent installment of Legend to Legend, our own Hall of Famer James Lofton sits down with Gregg to reminisce about his own big game experiences as a player in Super Bowls I, II and VI and as a coach of the Bengals in Super Bowl XVI.
