FT. WORTH, TX – On a cold, rainy night, Baylor’s dreams of a place in the College Football Playoff went up in smoke courtesy of a 28-21 defeat at the hands of TCU.
Trevone Boykin scored on a touchdown run in the first overtime to keep the Horned Frogs in the game, then hit KaVontae Turpin for the go-ahead score in the second extra session. The TCU defense stuffed Devin Chafin on fourth and one on the next possession to win the game.
TCU is now 10-2 on the season, while Baylor dropped to 9-2. The second loss for the Bears will leave them on the outside looking in when the field for the College Football Playoff is announced one week from Sunday.
Chuck Cooperstein and Tim Brown called the action on Westwood One Sports.
