DAYTON, OH – Wichita State’s two elder statesmen stepped up when they needed it most and the Shockers are moving on the in the NCAA Tournament courtesy of a 70-50 win over Vanderbilt in the First Four.
Seniors Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker each scored 14 points to lead the way, while the Commodores shot just 30 percent from the field. Wichita State finished the game on a 20-2 run and will now play Arizona in Providence on Wednesday.
