SPOKANE, WA – After getting off to a slow start, fifth-seeded Maryland used a 14-0 run with under eight minutes to play to pull away from thirteenth-seeded Hawai’i, as the Terrapins defeated the Rainbow Warriors 73-60.
The Terps shot a whopping 28-31 as a team from the charity stripe and were paced by point guard Melo Trimble’s 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Forward Mike Thomas led the Rainbow Warrior attack with 19 points in the losing effort.
