PITTSBURGH, PA – Nick Bonino’s goal with 2:33 left in the third period gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Monday night in the opener of the Stanley Cup Final.
Pittsburgh led 2-0 after the first period thanks to goals from Bryan Rust and Conor Sheary. San Jose answered in the second through tallies by Tomas Hertl and Patrick Marleau.
Game 2 is Wednesday night in Pittsburgh.
