OKLAHOMA CITY – Sydney Romero’s three-run home run was just enough as Oklahoma held on to defeat Auburn 3-2 on Monday night in the first game of the best-of-three championship at the Women’s College World Series.
The Tigers got to within a run on Jade Rhodes’ homer in the final frame and got the go-ahead run on base before Sooner pitcher Paige Parker shut down the rally.
Oklahoma is now a win away from its third softball national title.
Kevin Kugler and Leah Amico called the action on Westwood One Sports.
